Sign in and sync

Carry your Lookups and Glossary between the iPhone in your pocket and the iPad on your nightstand.

Lupa works fine signed out — every lookup is yours, kept on the device you used. Sign in when you want the same Lookups and the same Glossary on more than one device, or when you'd like a weekly summary by email.

How to sign in

From the User Menu, tap your avatar at the top. Two options appear.

  • Continue with Google. One tap. Lupa uses your Google account name and email, nothing else.
  • Continue with email. Type your email address. Lupa sends a single-use link — tap it on the phone and you're in. No password to remember.

The same account works on every device — phone, iPad, a borrowed phone for the afternoon.

What syncs

When you're signed in, these stay in sync across your devices, in both directions:

  • Every word in Lookups.
  • Every starred word in your Glossary.
  • Photos and audio clips, if you have Save Media enabled in Settings.

Sync runs in the background every few minutes and pulls fresh data when you open the app. Pull down on Lookups to refresh on demand.

Sign out

In the User Menu, tap Sign out. Cloud sync stops and Premium features pause — but your locally cached Lookups and Glossary stay on the device so you can read them offline.

Signing back in restores the cloud copy and merges anything you did while signed out.

Delete your account

Tap Delete account in the same place. Your account, every lookup, every photo, and every audio clip are removed from Lupa's servers and from any device that syncs with the account. There's no undo, so we ask twice.
